How to Tune Your Truck with an EZ Lynk

This is the clean TM AG step-by-step process for getting your truck linked, getting your files onto the Auto Agent, and flashing your tuning without putting yourself in a bad spot halfway through the job.

Applies to: EZ Lynk Auto Agent 2.0 and 3.0 truck tuning through TM AG Tuning.

Quick answer: order the EZ Lynk with your truck VIN, flash the truck before removing EGR or exhaust parts, hook up a battery charger set to 10A, install the EZ Lynk app, plug the Auto Agent into the OBDII port, connect to the Auto Agent over Wi-Fi, accept the TM AG technician connection, then go into ECU Profiles and flash the tuning file you want.

Important: tune the truck before removing hard parts. If something goes wrong during the flash and the emissions hardware is already removed, you can leave yourself with a truck that cannot go back to work until the issue is sorted out.

Before you start

  • Have the truck VIN ready when ordering so TM AG can link the truck to the device before it arrives.
  • Hook up a battery charger and set it to 10 amps before flashing.
  • Do the flash before removing EGR, DPF, or exhaust hardware.
  • Download the EZ Lynk Auto Agent app on your phone or tablet before you start the truck-side steps.
  • If you are flashing an 18+ Cummins, have the bypass cable ready as well.

Step-by-step EZ Lynk tuning procedure

  1. Order the EZ Lynk with your VIN. TM AG needs the VIN so the truck can be linked to the device before it gets to you. That helps avoid setup delays once the hardware arrives.
  2. Leave the hard parts alone until the truck is tuned. Do not start removing EGR or exhaust components first. Get the tuning loaded while the truck is still complete.
  3. Hook up a battery charger. Set the charger to 10A. Even with strong batteries, low voltage can cause a flash to fail on newer ECMs.
  4. Install the EZ Lynk Auto Agent app. Download it from the App Store or the Google Play Store, then create your account.
  5. Plug the Auto Agent into the truck. Connect the EZ Lynk to the OBDII port under the dash. If you are working on an 18+ Cummins, connect the bypass cable at the same time.

  6. Connect your phone or tablet to the Auto Agent Wi-Fi. Open your device Wi-Fi settings, join the Auto Agent network, then open the EZ Lynk app. The Auto Agent should recognize the VIN and connection automatically.
  7. Do not manually link unless TM AG tells you to. Manually linking can slow fulfillment and create unnecessary setup delay. Wait for the proper technician connection request to appear, then accept TM AG Tuning as the technician.
  8. Complete the truck information prompts. Once the technician connection is accepted, the app may ask for a little information about your truck. After that, your tuning files should begin auto-populating into the account, and you may see push notifications as they arrive.
  9. Open the tuning files. From the main dashboard, open the top-left menu, select your vehicle, then go to ECU Profiles.
Menu > Vehicle > ECU Profiles
  10. Select the file you want and flash the tuning. This is where your tune files are stored. Choose the correct file and follow the app prompts until the flash is complete.
Good practice: keep the charger connected and leave the truck alone during the flash. Stable voltage matters more than people think on newer ECMs.

Abbreviations to know

These are the main shorthand labels you may see in the EZ Lynk tune list or file options.

Rumble idle

Turbo vanes open at idle.

Hiss idle

Turbo vanes closed at idle.

LBF

Low Boost Fuel, additional fueling before the turbo fully spools.

SOTF

Switch On The Fly. The truck needs the correct switch for this feature. You do not manually pick five separate tunes here, the switchable ranges are already built into the file package.

What usually goes wrong

  • Trying to flash after removing hardware, which turns a tuning issue into downtime.
  • Skipping the battery charger and letting voltage drop during the flash.
  • Manually linking the Auto Agent when TM AG did not ask you to.
  • Assuming the truck is ready before the tune files finish populating in ECU Profiles.

Need help from TM AG?

If the app does not detect the truck, the technician request does not appear, or the files do not show up in ECU Profiles, send TM AG a screenshot of what the app shows, your truck VIN, and whether you are on an 18+ Cummins with a bypass cable. That makes it much faster to tell whether the issue is linking, voltage, hardware, or file delivery.
